Impact on Training of Surgical Hubs

Impact on Training of Surgical Hubs

Lead: Kem Onubogu

Across the country, surgical hubs are being set up to attempt to separate resources for elective care from emergency care, to reduce the impact of emergency services on the former. These hubs increase the efficiency and quality of services throughout the patient journey.

The benefit to patient care is evident however, the impact on surgical training has yet to be assessed.

With the newly formed surgical hub opened in Cambridge and the Essex and Suffolk Elective Orthopaedic Centre due to open, we would appreciate your views on training currently and then following the opening of the hubs in our region.
